OUR HISTORY

The Köstinger-Marthe family

- Our history, our traditions & more…-
The foundation stone of our hotel was already laid in the mid-30s. At that time Mrs. Elise Hoche spent her annual summer holidays in the Olympiaregion Seefeld. When the Berlin Wall was built in 1961, Elise wanted to establish a second foothold in Austria for security reasons. They bought the property on which our hotel stands today. She opened the Pension Charlotte with her son and daughter-in-law Charlotte Hoche for the winter season 1963/64 (Olympic Winter Games). During the construction period, Willhelm Köstinger, a former Nordic combined, met Christa Hoche (today's senior manager). In the following years, through their tireless diligence, they created the Hotel Charlotte almost as you know it today. Since 2006 their daughter Carola Marthe has taken over the management.

The Lamas

- Our history, our traditions & more…-
Due to the closure of the Magdeburg Zoo in 1989 we got our first New World camels - 3 guanacos. In the following years we expanded our small herd. Then we also started to do bigger and smaller hikes and walks with our friends and guests. Today our herd consists of 12 llamas and we have started again to organize trips with our animals and guests to revive the connection with nature and the animals.

Our traditions

- Our history, our traditions & more…-
In order not to let old things fall into oblivion, we bought a 300 years old farmhouse from the Zillertal in 1994 and built it in 1996 on the Geigenbühel in the original wooden frame construction. In addition, we bought a smoke- and a bread oven, which are still in use today. So, our guests get daily homemade speck, a typical Tirolean bacon, for breakfast.
